The Chabad Centers of Greater Boston invite the community to an Evening of Inspiration with Internationally Renowned Speaker and Author, Rabbi Dr. Shlomo Riskin, to commemorate Gimmel Tammuz, the 20th Yahrziet of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe whose Yahrziet is being commemorated at the event, served as one of the most dynamic Jewish leaders in modern times, and helped spurn the growth and comeback of Judaism after the horrors of the Holocaust. The Rebbe served as the spiritual leader of the Chabad Movement, and encouraged the movement to be at the forefront of Jewish engagement and Jewish life. The Rebbe had close relationships with multiple Prime Ministers of Israel, influential Jewish leaders, American Political Leaders and most importantly with many thousands of individuals who met or corresponded with the Rebbe seeking his advice and inspiration.
The Rebbe’s unwavering love and commitment to his brethren, along with his tremendous influence and teachings, helped inspire a Jewish renaissance in communities across the globe, and has resulted in Chabad being a leader in Jewish Life for young and old in every corner of the globe. To date, as a result of the Rebbe’s work, Chabad has become one of the fastest growing movements of Judaism with 4000 centers around the world and close to 30 in the Greater Boston area alone.
Rabbi Riskin who is the founder of the Lincoln Square Synagogue in Manhattan and helped pioneer the Israeli town of Efrat near Jerusalem where he now serves as its Rabbi and spiritual leader, will deliver an inspiring message at the Evening of Inspiration that will serve as a tribute to the leadership and work of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in his 44 years of leadership. Rabbi Riskin will share some of his own personal encounters and discussions with Rabbi Schnersohn that helped influence and shape his own path and impacted the growth and future of Judaism in America, Israel and beyond.
The event will take place at the TAJ Boston, 15 Arlington St. Boston, MA on Wednesday June 25th at 7pm. The event is free to the public, and a cocktail hour with Rabbi Riskin before the event is available to sponsors of the evening for $360 a Couple.
