Welcome to the Chabad Hebrew School of Sudbury, an educational program that offers a stimulating and friendly environment for children to embrace their Jewish roots and gain a true sense of Jewish pride, no matter their prior knowledge or affiliation. At our Hebrew School. children, ages five through thirteen, acquire a broad knowledge of Judaism through a motivating and challenging program.

Our students gain an appreciation for the joys, values and traditions of our heritage as it is vividly brought to life by the dedicated and enthusiastic teachers whose creativity and dynamism make every lesson a unique learning experience. At Chabad our goal is simple: We want our students to view Judaism in an intelligent, relevant and upbeat light. By year's end, along with the Hebrew Reading as brought to life by our Aleph Champ program, Holiday learning and Jewish Values and History; your child will have developed a deep love and appreciation for their precious heritage, imbuing their every day with a sense of pride and purpose.

Coronavirus & our Academic Year

We are pleased to announce that based on the responses we have received, we will be offering two tracks this year in Chabad Hebrew School to accommodate all our students!

We will be using the same curriculum for both tracks to keep all our students streamlined and on the same page as this will also allow for students to seamlessly transition from one track to the other if necessary. Also, please keep in mind that we will be constantly monitoring the medical guidelines and updates and adjust our Hebrew School plans accordingly. Tuition costs remain the same for both tracks.

Track One - In Person Classes: Track One will take place at The Chabad Center of Sudbury on Sunday mornings from 9:30 am - 12. We will be using the large room upstairs and the large room downstairs to allow for proper social distancing. We will also use the outdoor space as much as possible. Students and staff will be wearing masks at all times. We are consulting with medical experts who are guiding us on the safest and best protocols to put in place for the in person classes. We will follow up with all the specific guidelines and regulations. The safety of our students and families is our first priority, above all else.

Track Two – Virtual Classes: Track Two will take place at home using "Out of the Box" virtual Hebrew School lessons with a live teacher. We understand that virtual learning is challenging for many children, and we are doing our best to make this option as "out of the box" and as engaging as possible. We are working with professionals who are creating a curriculum geared for remote learning, and who will be training our staff in zoom proficiency and in making this platform interactive and relatable. In addition, exciting, individualized boxes (or bags) with materials needed for each week's lesson will be available for each student who is joining this track. The boxes will be distributed monthly or weekly. Alef Champ reading sessions will be scheduled individually at a mutually agreeable time during the week. Virtual lessons will be about one hour (possibly 1 hour and 10 / 15 minutes). Please days and times below. Kitah Alef – Monday afternoons 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm Kitah Bet – Tuesday afternoons 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm Kitah Gimmel - Monday afternoons 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm (Kitah = Group; Alef is the youngest, Bet is the middle, & Gimmel is the oldest)

The B Club: We are starting a Bar / Bat Mitzvah Club called “The B Club”. This club will take place in person at Chabad on Sunday mornings During Hebrew School hours. The B Club is geared for boys and girls within the year before or after their Bar / Bat Mitzvah. The B Club will combine part time volunteering opportunities at Hebrew School, stimulating learning and discussions, Community Mitzvah projects, & exclusive activities / events. It’s going to B awesome !!!
