The High Holiday Tent is down and the Community Sukkah is up!
The inspiration, meaning and joy from the tent is being transferred to the Sukkah....
Yes a little more exposed to the elements (although G-d willing we will have great weather next week), but it is a reminder of the spiritual embrace that the Sukkah represents, and the message that its temporary walls and roof carry, that despite the fragile dynamics of our lives and history, we have who to rely on to help us succeed and power on.
The Sukkah, also represents a simple and fragile structure that can bring together so many under its roof, in rain or shine, all under the elements and indeed G-d's blessings at the same time.
Indeed the theme of Unity which is one of the big messages of Sukkot, is as important as ever, and it is a reminder that we can all find space to celebrate together under the Sukkah roof. In addition, just like the Lulav & Etrog, we can all find ourselves bound together and shaking our blessing in different directions, even if individually we all have different qualities and strengths, yet the underlying spiritual oneness, is perhaps the glue that binds us all together, and helps stimulate our sense of direction and a much healthier sense of community and shared goals and aspirations.
We have daily events and celebrations (Sushi in the Sukkah, CTeen Event, Sukkos Kids Bash, a Sukkos Senior Program and more) and services and we encourage you to join us and celebrate for this festival of Joy and Hope for whatever programs work for you, and of course invite your friends too.
We will have a Lulav & Etrog at Chabad in the Sukkah and you are welcome to stop by anytime from Sunday and on, to make a blessing, give a shake and have a snack in the Sukkah.
