Imagine incoming rocket sirens going off and you know that your little toddlers have sixty to ninety seconds to get to the bomb shelters with their teachers, and you are blocks away.
This was the reality of multiple of my relatives this week, as the incoming rocket sirens went off in the middle of the day on Wednesday. Just imagine what a mother must feel during those terrifying moments.
I have another close elderly relative who is wheelchair bound, and they hardly have time to get to the bomb shelter in their apartment, as the sirens go off.
This is the reality of millions of Israelis this week as once again Israel fights terrorists who are committed to destroying Israel.

Meanwhile Jewish Communities around the world celebrated the festive holiday of Lag Baomer on Monday evening into Tuesday. From Meron, Israel where 200,000 people joined together in celebration and song and dance (including my daughter Chana), to cities across the Ukraine, Russia, Europe, America and right here in Sudbury, millions of people celebrated this joyful and uplifting holiday and its hopeful and inspiring message of pride, joy and vibrancy. You can click here to read a little more about that.
Tomorrow in the synagogue we will be reading many laws and traditions associated with the Land of Israel and how those ideas, were meant to help inspire and guide the people to remember their purpose and responsibilities and be caring to all of those they interacted with. Many fascinating and empowering ideas, which continue to have so much relevance to us even in the 21st century.
Please join us tomorrow morning for all or part of the weekly Shabbat Services & the Kiddush Luncheon from 10am Service - 12:30pm Luncheon.
