Chanukah Celebration Sudbury Town Hall 2007

Tuesday, 11 December, 2007 - 12:07 pm

This past Sunday, December 9th over a hundred people celebrated a Grand Chanukah Celebration and Menorah Lighting in front of Sudbury's Town Hall sponsored by the Chabad Center of Sudbury. The event featured the lighting of a giant 9 foot Menorah a huge 6 foot blow up Dreidel and a great show by Benjamin the juggling clown. Chanukah refreshments such as Latkes and Donuts and hot drinks were a big hit and kept everyone warmed up in the chilly weather.

Rabbi Yisroel Freeman of the Chabad Center of Sudbury gave thanks to the Town of Sudbury and to Jim Brady for facilitating this great event. A special thanks was also given to Dr Brian and Nancy Schwartz for their generous sponsorship of the large Menorah. Appreciation was also given to the Wingate at Sudbury, Hyzen Photography and to the many others who helped make this event possible.

Rabbi Freeman spoke about the beautiful message of the lights of Chanukah and how we can continue to be participants in the eight day miracle of light by ensuring that we continue bringing light into the lives of our families and to the communities in which we live.

Despite the cold weather the participants were warmed up by the great Chanukah joy, music and feeling which was shared by all who attended.
