Support Victims of Terror & Send an Embrace from Massachusetts
Dear Friends,
In mid August, I will be going on a short visit to Israel where I have arranged to spend two days of the trip visiting families who have been impacted by some of the recent terror attacks. I hope that these visits will provide a certain level of tangible support & solidarity for these families who have experienced the loss or severe injury of a family member in some of the recent attacks.
So many times over the last few years, I have been saddened by the tragedies of these attacks and have been left thinking about what tangible things I could do to help them. I am hopeful that this visit will provide a moral boost and tangible physical help where needed as well as a message of support from our own community that will let them know that they are not alone and we care about them.
Some of the specific situations which we hope to help with are;
1. Assist a boy who will be celebrating his Bar Mitzvah whose father lost both of his legs in a terror attack and cannot provide. We hope to purchase a pair of Teffilin for the boy and help him towards being able to celebrate his Bar Mitzvah properly.
2. Assist a young groom who will be getting married soon, his father was a bus driver who was killed in a terror attack in Tel Aviv several years ago, and the family need some assistance to helping him start off his own life.
3. Assist a young family who lost a child in a terror attack and two others from other causes.
4. Several other families and situations.
I have coordinated this trip with Chabad Terror Victims Project who helped me be a part of an amazing and inspiring visit of support on my last trip to Israel and help thousands of such families each year. (You can read about the last visit here in which we bought gift cards or injured soldiers who were still in rehab, a beautiful pair of Teffilin for a boy who was celebrating his Bar Mitzvah)
