My Visit to Injured IDF Soldiers and a 12 Year old in Sedorot next week

Thursday, 28 May, 2015 - 1:41 pm

Dear Friends,

Next week, I will be visiting Israel to officiate and participate in a very close family wedding. While I am there, I will be spending next Thursday with the Chabad Organization that works with injured soldiers and victims of terror, and will be spend the day visiting IDF soldiers who were injured in last summer’s war in Gaza who are still in Rehab, and visiting a family in Sedorot in Southern Israel who were severely impacted by the rocket attacks.

The family who we will be visiting have a young child who is still in and out of hospital as a result of a rocket attack, have multiple children with very few resources and also have a 12 year old boy who is meant to be celebrating his Bar Mitzvah in a few weeks. The family have no resources and struggle tremendously and we hope to bring the young boy and his family some joy for his upcoming Bar Mitzvah in the form of a new pair of Tefillin (Phylacteries) and some useful gifts for the young boy and his family, and some messages of support and love from our community. In addition besides visiting the soldiers, we plan on giving them some gifts that will show them appreciation from our own Jewish community, along with some personal letters.

If you would like participate in this Visit with helping out towards the gifts for the boy and his family, or for the injured soldiers, please let me know by emailing me at [email protected] or by going to our donate page at www.chabadsudbury.com/donate and putting in the notes what the purpose of the donation is for or contact me if you wish to contribue in some other way.

If you would like to send a card or a letter to the soldiers or the boy and his family, please give it to me before next Tuesday June 2nd.

While I am sure that they receive visitors and some support for the Israeli government and organizations, a message of support from people outside of Israel, letting them know that we care and appreciate their sacrifice too, would be most meaningful.  Depending on what comes in we will be able to buy better quality and more useful gifts for the recipients.

Thank you in advance to all who are able to participate.

Yours Truly

Yisroel
