Passover Recap

Sunday, 19 April, 2015 - 2:17 pm

"In her 80+ years, my mother never missed celebrating Passover even in the most difficult and darkest years of the Soviet oppression, and that is why we made sure that my mother can join you here today to once again celebrate Passover". This was said by one of the family members of a participant at a Seder we held at a local Nursing Home this past weekend, along with multiple other seniors and their loved ones. It was a truly moving Seder to be with such a rich array of seniors with diverse backgrounds, histories and families, and it was beautiful to see everyone together around one Seder table celebrating the same age old meaningful traditions of Passover in such a joyful manner.

Seder 2.jpgI am sure that you too enjoyed meaningful and enjoyable Seders this Passover. Personally we were joined by over 50 guests at our first Seder and a smaller turnout at our second Seder. While it was a logistical challenge to figure out the seating, the company, atmosphere, and beautiful evening made it all very worthwhile.

Please join us for the last days of Passover for our services and Yizkor as well as our special presentation on the "City of David" which you can read about below.

IMG-20150409-WA0007_resized.jpgWith best wishes for an enjoyable home stretch of the Passover Holiday as we celebrate not only the Splitting of the Sea and the saving of the Jews from the Egyptian army on the 7th day of Passover, but also our hopes and prayers for the future on the 8th day of Passover.

Trivia Question: What is Moses doing in the picture to the left?
