Imagine a long line of children dressed up in costume walking into a nursing home to bring the joy of Purim to the residents. Well this is exactly what happened this past Sunday as the students of the Chabad Sudbury Hebrew School along with their teachers and some parent volunteers joined residents of the Wingate at Sudbury along with their family members for a memorable Purim Celebration.
The celebration featured a Megilla Reading, costumes by all of the children, Purim songs and music, and lots of happy interactions between the students and the residents.
In addition Purim events were held before Purim for young children at the Jewish Activity Zone and for women with the Pre Purim Hamantashen bake.
A Megilla reading on Saturday evening and a joyous Purim celebration at the end of the day which attracted a large crowd, helped ensure that Purim was celebrated in a truly joyous and uplifting manner by the community.
