This past Tuesday evening, almost 150 people joined together for our largest Sudbury Chanukah Celebration yet! The large crowd included many children, families, adults and a huge mix of people from the local community and beyond.
Festivities began with light music and some entertainment with Benjamin the Clown at 6pm. A few minutes later when the crowd began to swell, Rabbi Freeman shared a few words to the community, welcoming everyone to the event, thanking the sponsors and the town, and sharing an inspirational message about Chanukah.
As the many children and adults watched with excitement the large 8 foot Menorah was lit after the blessings were said and a flawless lighting took place. The crowd then sang some great Chanukah songs and enjoyed the warm Chanukah spirit in the cold New England air.
Watching the large crowd gathered on the steps of the Town Hall in the center of town one couldn't help but be happy and proud of our beautiful community, of our beautiful heritage, and of the great town and country that we live in.
The crowd then went next door to the Grange Hall where a great Chanukah celebration had been spread out, which included hundreds of Latke's and Donuts, lots of other refreshments, arts and crafts for the children, a dreidel guess, and an awesome show by Benjamin the Juggling Clown.
Benjamin kept the crowd entertained for half an hour with his witty and exciting show that kept the crowd laughing, smiling, singing and having a great time watching volunteers try their luck with Benjamin's antics.

The annual Sudbury Chanukah Celebration began in 2007 and each year it continues to grow and provide a beautiful celebration for the local Community. We are grateful to Dr Brian & Schwartz for donating the beautiful eight-foot Menorah and are thankful to all of our supporters, sponsors, and participants who help make the event the success that it is each year. We would also like to thank the Town of Sudbury and the Sudbury Historical Society for facilitating this beautiful community event each year.
