The campers of Camp Gan Israel Sudbury have just completed an awesome week of fun activities, Jewish learning, exciting trips, tons of sports and games and so much more. The camp which was based at Lincoln Sudbury High School featured five days of non-stop fun in an exciting Jewish atmosphere. 20 local children were able to participate in this exciting camp and below we present a synopsis of the camp's daily activities.
Day 1 Highlights
On the 1st day of camp we had lots of sports and games and some extra special fun with Coach Mike who kept the camp moving and rolling. Originally, the camp was supposed to go swimming at a local pool but due to a Hazmat spill at the pool, plans had to be changed at the last minute. Instead, some fun water games at camp provided an exciting alternative. The kids also began working on their arts and crafts projects, had a fun Dance class with Becca Romash and began to learn their mini Jewish Curriculums for the week.
Day 2 Highlights
On the second day after the usual entertaining morning lineup and morning prayers and study groups, the kids went to their different activities. The older boys went on a Kosher Scavenger hunt at a local supermarket that included finding one item of Kosher food for every letter in the alphabet. While it proved challenging to find the Kosher symbols on the food items, they managed to find a food for every letter besides X. They also had some other exciting items to find but they proved a little less challenging.
The entire camp then went on a trip to Hopkinton State Park which included a picnic, races and games, canoeing and a hike. Everyone came home wiped out from too much fun!
Day 3 Highlights
After the normal morning activities which included their daily stufy and short prayers and songs, the children went swimming at Wayland Town Pool and had a blast splashing, swimming and diving.
In the afternoon, Coach Mike was back with an action packed afternoon of sports such as Dodgeball and other fun games and activities. The children also continued their beautiful woodworking projects and began to work on a big Camp Collage.
Day 4 Highlights
After the morning schedule of activities the children went on a thrilling trip to Canobie Lake Park in New Hampshire. It was a long day full of fun and thrilling rides and all the children and parent volunteers had a great time spinning around, getting wet and getting on as many rides as possible.

Day 5 Highlights
The children concluded their mini Jewish curriculums for the week, with the younger bunks having completed a series on important Mitzvot and the older boys having learned a curriculum on Jewish heroes and what we learn from them. The older boys ran off for a quick trip the Massachusetts Fire Academy where they ere given a tour of the facility and got to try out some of the great stuff they have there. The children then enjoyed another swimming day at Wayland Town Pool, then baked Challah, had dance class again, and ended the day with more exciting games and activities.
