This past Shabbat we enjoyed a beautiful and exciting Shabbaton with Rabbi Yehudah and Miriam Ferris of Berkeley, California. Friday evening around 60 people joined together for Friday night Shabbat Services and a delicious Friday Night Shabbat Dinner. Rabbi Ferris and his wife Miriam delighted the assembled with their stories, anecdotes, jokes and meaningful Jewish insights. Rabbi Ferris kept the audience laughing through the night with his animated and humorous style of sharing ideas. A couple songs and several L'Chaim's combined with the great food and awesome company made a very memorable night out.
The next day on Saturday those who were able to come and join the service and Kiddush heard more from them including some background and history to the recent circumcision debate in San Fransisco.
We thank Rabbi Yehudah and Miriam for their company and beautiful Shabbat their provided to the Sudbury community, and look forward to the next community Friday Shabbat Dinner.
