"I woke up and I cried" said a camper at CGI Sudbury on it being the last day of our 1st camp, "I went to sleep crying" said another, or as one parent put it "this is his kids most amazing camp experience ever"! These are sentiments we are hearing over and over from campers and their parents alike on their experiences at the first year of CGI Sudbury.
All together some 23 campers participated both weeks in our first camp and were able to enjoy activities such as swimming, taekwondo, sports instructors and games, exciting trips, hikes, arts and crafts, tons of fun and exciting Jewish activities, Challah Baking, Gymnastics and the list just goes on and on. By far the most exciting part of CGI is the great camp spirit and joy that is part of every moment at CGI and is what makes the kids have such a great camp experience.
Credit for pulling the camp together goes to Shayna Freeman the Camp Director, Sara Aidel Plotke Head Counselor and all the counselors Dina Sirota and Mushky Rapp from NYC, and Chana Pinkwas, Illana Kleynerman, and Amy Shapiro from Sudbury! In addition we should thank the many volunteers who put in hours and effort in preparing the camp or coming in and doing performances, like Lauren Hochberg, Karin Shapiro for her pottery lessons, Lori Goldman for her Taekwondo instruction, Ilya Levin, and so many more.
A big thank you also goes to Lincoln Sudbury High School for the rental use of their awesome building.
Next year we aim to expand the length of the camp and of course enrollment in the camp!
