This week as the sirens sounded in Israel to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day, in one corner of Israel, a 90 Year old Holocaust Survivor was celebrating the Brit of his 49th great grandchild.
In this picture you can see Nosson Weinberg holding his 49th great grandchild during the Circumcision Ceremony, which took place as Israel's two minute siren sounded as Israel remembers the six million who perished in the Holocaust.
Nosson Weinberg, a 90-year-old survivor of the Holocaust’s atrocities, immigrated from Europe to the United States following World War II, where he rebuilt his life and family before making Aliyah to Israel several years ago.
The child from today’s bris was named Nachshon Eitan Asher, and is the Nosson’s 49th great-grandchild.
Indeed as we move on from Passover and continue on our journey into the Spring, this image is a powerful reminder of the journey that never ends. Indeed, our continued actions are helping shape this eternal story as we build and perfect the world, one soul at a time.
