Mini-circuits founder Harvey Kaylie and his wife Gloria added to a string of Jewish philanthropic pursuits with the dedication of a travelling Torah scroll at the Hampton Synagogue in Westhampton Beach, N.Y.

The scroll, dedicated in honor of Harvey Kaylie’s grandmother Tess’s 100th birthday, will make the rounds of newly-established Chabad Houses will Shabbat-morning services that don’t yet have a Torah of their own. The first institution to benefit from the scroll will be Chabad-Lubavitch of Marion County in Ocala, Fla.

The Kaylies were recently honored by the N.Y. State Senate for their support of Ohel Children’s Home and Family Services; a donation from the family is funding the organization’s Camp Kaylie, an integrated summer camp for children with special needs and those from the general population that will open next year.

“Mr. and Mrs. Kaylie have proved themselves over and over again as friends of the Jewish community and Chabad Houses throughout the world,” said Chabad of Long Island director Rabbi Tuvia Teldon.
