From the anecdotes and teachings to the stories and the message, it was one amazing evening of inspiration and empowerment.

The way Rabbi Shochet weaved the beautiful ideas from Judaism interspersed with some of the enduring teachings of the Rebbe, to create a deep and meaningful message that resonated with all, was truly beautiful

Why Did He Travel for Six Days?

At the end of the incredible evening on Wednesday (read more below), Rabbi Schochet shared the incredible story of his own mother who was a young child during the Holocaust.

He told us, how her parents had been murdered by the Nazis but she had been saved and was being hidden by a Protestant Minister at the risk of his own life.

One day the Protestant Minister, took a three day trek through the forest and farmlands in the middle of the winter, to come to another barn in the countryside, where this little girl's grandparents were in hiding (his great grandparents). They were in shock when they saw him and thought the worst must have happened. Yet he quickly reassured them and told them, that he had come to reassure them that… Read More »

Hello from Levi in Israel

image (22).pngOn Saturday night, after Levi told us about his Shabbat in Jerusalem, the piece of shrapnel that landed in front of building they were staying in, their time in the shelters, the rushing in to a tunnel as missiles exploded overhead, and how on Friday night at their Shabbat dinner, they sang in the shelter for each missile being blown up in the sky overhead, I asked him, is he okay with being there and does he have any desire to come back home?

I knew his answer, but wanted to hear it directly from him.

He said that he is determined to stay and keeping bringing cheer and spiritual and morale uplift to the many he serves every day, and is grateful that at this challenging time, he is able to be there to make a difference!

No fear, no terro… Read More »

Israel at War & Our Response

So much has happened in the last 20 hours since the war with Iran began.

It is a moment in time which we all wished wouldn't have to happen, but with Israel being left with no options, here we are.

Here we are living through history and watching a war which was a last resort against a regime which has stated clearly that their goal was to destroy Israel, and their proxies had clearly stated that the goal was to destroy the Jewish people.

Left with no choice, Israel has arisen like a roaring lion to take on this challenge to protect the Jewish people and humanity as a whole. Indeed war is a last resort, but as seen so clearly Israel, from left to right, there is a clear understanding, that this is the moral and just thing to d… Read More »

Shavuos Recap & Confronting the Antisemitism

Dear Friends,

Thank you to the all of the many youth, adults & families who joined us for the annual Community Shavuot Celebration & Buffet & Ice Cream Bar this past Monday.

The weather was gorgeous, the food was sumptuous, the ceremony and celebration of Shavuot was meaningful, and watching everyone chat, socialize, connect and the many kids enjoying ice cream and running around, was a beautiful sight to see!

As several people commented to us, on a day following yet another violent antisemitic attack, seeing so many happy faces celebrating Jewish life and our traditions, was the best thing they could have seen that day.

Thank you also to everyone who joined us for the Shavuot Ted Talk learning program on the fi… Read More »
