On Sunday many dozens of children and families joined in two sessions of the Model Matzah Bakery and had an awesome time grinding grain, sifting flour, shaping, making and baking a Matzah and learning all about this Mitzvah. 

At the end of the event, the participants were led by "Moses" and other Jewish leaders, through the sea and went to collect their very own Matzahs which were popping right out of the oven.

​As I drove down to New York on Tuesday, I heard the news that there had been yet another terrible terrorist attack on innocent Israelis in the center of Israel. For the next few hours, I was in shock and so upset, as for the third time in a week people were being murdered on the streets of Israeli cities.

In this attack in Bnai Brak, five innocent people were killed, including a young father who was shielding his two year old son from the bullets, and left behind a young pregnant wife, two Ukrainian workers, a young father of four, and a brave and heroic Israeli Christian Arab Policeman who dashed into combat and helped eliminate the terrorist.

Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who have been helping pack over 300 beautiful Passover Packages last week and this week at the Chabad Center of Sudbury. The packages contain hand made Shmurah Matzah, Wine or Grape Juice, a beautiful guide, kids crafts and much more!

These are being distributed in Sudbury and multiple surrounding towns this week and next week and will help share the Passover joy and the traditional hand baked Shmurah Matzah with so many.

We will also be sharing these packages with residents in multiple local nursing homes over the course of Passover.

We are very grateful to Rabbi Mendel Moskowitz who joined us on Sunday evening on Zoom and shared with us his personal and powerful story of his family's escape from Kharkov. Mendel also shared an update on what his family and parents, have been doing for the Jewish community of Kharkov, both for those who still remain and for the many who have fled.

It was an emotional and powerful story and we appreciate him taking the time to share this with us.

Chabad of Sudbury is partnering with the Jewish communities of Kharkov, Mariopul, Krementchuk, Dnieper and others before Passover and will be sharing more tangible support to help those left behind or those who have fled.
