Coming back Home!

As I write these words, the first hostages including a few children, their mothers and a few elderly people have been released and returned to Israel, in exchange for 39 terrorists who have been prosecuted for stabbings and other assaults.

It is a day of intense mixed emotions, as on the one hand, we are overjoyed at seeing these innocent hostages finally being returned to their loved ones even as we have paid a terrible price to do so. Yet at the same time, the obstacles Israel faces and the global antisemitism and bigotry from political leaders, journalists, colleges, students and so many others, continue to present great and huge challenges.

We are reminded at times like this, to look inwards and gain strength from the teachi… Read More »

From Washington & New York all the way to Israel

Seeing almost 300,000 people in Washington DC who had come together from across the country to stand with Israel and to stand strong against antisemitism was awe inspiring and a very powerful sight to see.

From the family members of the hostages who spoke, to the college kids and so many others who spoke from both sides of the aisle, it was refreshing and empowering to see, and a truly strong message of unity and so much more.

Earlier in the week, I was at the Chabad Conference in New York where I had the honor to meet Rabbi Zev Pizem from Chabad of Sedorot, near the Gaza Strip, who spoke at the conference along with his son and 9 year old grandson, about the realities on the ground for them and their community… Read More »

A Message from the Jewish World

In the last 12 hours, I have met in person with Rabbi's and Colleagues from many parts of the world, including Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, Argentina, Cyprus, Paraguay, England, France and so many other places. Yes, I am at the International Conference of Chabad Shluchim in New York (and Shabbat Services will be run by my children and layleaders), along with many thousands of others.

Many of the Chabad Rabbi's have stayed behind in Israel and will join in virtually with an event in Israel on Sunday, and the theme of the convention is how to uplift our people and help Israel, during this challenging time for Israel and world Jewry.

This morning, I spoke to a friend of mine who is a Rabbi and a reservist in the IDF who has been … Read More »

Do not FEAR and do not be AFRAID, be STRONG & PROUD

DO NOT FEAR & DO NOT BE AFRAID (1).pngEvery single day this week, I spoke to multiple people from our community and beyond, who reached out to share their fears and concerns of antisemitism and where things are headed in this country and around the world. People have clearly expressed to me, that what has happened in this country, in college campuses, in many media outlets, on the streets and on social media, and of course in so many places around the world, is unlike anything they have ever seen in their lifetime.

When an enraged mob of thousands was running around the airport in Dagestan last Sunday, looking for Jews to lynch and murder, that was bad enough and a reminder of the pogroms that happened to our great grandparents. Yet when respected media, go and call that a pro… Read More »
