Coinciding with the weekly Torah portion of Chayei Sarah – on which rabbinic commentaries point out that patriarch Abraham’s wife Sarah lit Shabbat candles each Friday night – the Jewish website Chabad.org announced the launch of an updated section devoted to the same custom now practiced by young girls and women around the world.

The updated section features explanatory articles, a step-by-step handbook, first-person stories, reflections and insights, three videos, and a tool to look up candle-lighting times anywhere in the world.

Visitors to the site can also order candle-lighting kits from the Chabad-Lubavitch Candle-Lighting Campaign.
