Rosh Chodesh Women's Society Launching in Sudbury

A Celebration of Jewish Womanhood

Debut of Rivkah’s Tent, In-Depth Women’s Torah Study
In Memory of Rebbetzin Rivkah Holtzberg

At the end of November, on the anniversary of the terrorist killings in Mumbai, India, the Rosh Chodesh Society will unveil Rivkah’s Tent.  This monthly series will provide an opportunity for women to join together for in-depth Torah study in memory of victim Rebbetzin Rivkah Holtzberg. Both insightful and practical, these lessons will contain depth and insight into the timeless cornerstones of Judaism. This year, the curriculum focuses on observances of special relevance to Jewish women.

“Our tradition teaches that in the face of tragedy, we find comfort through positive action,” said Shayna Freeman, chair of the Rosh Chodesh Society of Sudbury. “This is a fitting tribute to the life and values of Rebbetzin Holtzberg.”

The first meeting of the local chapter of the Rosh Chodesh Society will take place in Sudbury, MA in November.  This program is designed for people with all levels of Jewish knowledge, and participants don't have to have any prior experience or background learning to attend and enjoy this series. All women of the community, regardless of affiliation, are invited to attend.

The Rosh Chodesh Society is a division of the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI). JLI is the adult education arm of Chabad-Lubavitch, and offers courses and educational programs at over 300 locations worldwide.
