What Are the High Holidays?
The two-day holiday of Rosh Hashanah is the head and beginning of the Jewish year, the time when Gād reinvests Himself in creation as we contemplate our relationship with G-d and reflect on our mission in this world. A week later, the High Holidays reach their crescendo with Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) when we neither eat nor drink for 25 hours as we seek to connect with our inner core and soul and connect with G-d as we strive to improve and better ourselves for the coming year.
