Camp GIGA, a Chabad-Lubavitch run summer camp that takes Jewish boys from Germany and Austria on a fun and inspirational tour of places in the United States, completed its second season of operation, giving its 25 campers the trip of a lifetime.
Highlights of the group’s itinerary included a visit to the Cambria Heights, N.Y., resting place of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, a kosher barbeque in New York City’s Central Park, a New York Mets baseball game, late-night Torah discussions at Yeshivas Ohr Elchonon in Los Angeles, and archery and hiking at Kiryas Schneerson in Running Springs, Calif.
Run under the auspices of Chabad-Lubavitch of Frankfurt, Camp GIGA was made possible by the support of Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, vice chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, the educational arm of Chabad-Lubavitch, and sponsors from Germany and New York.

The 25 campers took in a New York Mets baseball game during their trip to the United States.
One of the trip’s highlights was a visit to the Cambria Heights, N.Y., resting place of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, where the campers wrote down requests for blessings, recited Psalms, and prayed to G‑d.
After heading to Los Angeles, the boys took in some of the city’s sights, such as University Studios in Hollywood.
They also spent 10 days at Kiryas Schneerson, headquarters of Camp Gan Israel in Running Springs, Calif., where they enjoyed the outdoors and studied Torah.
The stay in Running Springs provided plenty of time for inspirational discussions.
Prayer began each day.
The campers posed for a picture at a California mountaintop.
