A Moving 99th Birthday

Meir & General Kochavi.pngMeir Hayman turned 99 years old earlier this week, and he was asked by his family what he would like to do to celebrate this special day. He didn’t flinch and said he would like to be able to go to the Western Wall while surrounded by his family and descendants and give a prayer of thanks to G-d.

Meir was pushed along in a wheelchair and was moving along in a procession surrounded by many of his family members as he approached the Western Wall.

Without knowing, Israel’s IDF’s current and new Chief of Staff were both arriving at the Western Wall for a ceremony as they marked the transfer of responsibility of safeguarding Israel, from General Kochavi to General Hertzl Levi.
