What's up with the snow?

October Snow.jpgDid you see the snow? Are you feeling cold or chilly? Does it seem cold out there?

Well you aren't alone since besides the weather changing over to snow, the Jewish Calendar is moving on from the month of Tishrei that is full of holidays and moving into the month of Cheshvan which is also called bitter due its lack of holidays and natural warmth and joy.

Then again Jewish thought teaches us that the holidays actually empower us to nurture our inner strengths and abilities and to hold on to them so that we can bring the joy, warmth and meaning of the holidays into the year and into our day to day life. Simchat Torah Report

Simchat Torah Banner (tabs)Simchat Torah was celebrated with a lively and joyous celebration that had dozens of adults and children dancing away with the Torah. Besides for the energetic dancing and lively singing everyone was able to enjoy a beautiful Deli Dinner in honor of Simchat Torah. Thank you to everyone who was able to come and be part of this once a year joyous holiday!

Sukkos Report & Pictures

This Sukkot has been another exciting Jewish holiday in Sudbury as many guests enjoyed the Sukkah, a great Sushi in the Sukkah evening was held, many got to shake the Lulav and Etrog and say a blessing in the Sukkah, and lots of fun was had.

High Holidays 2011 Recap

We hope you all had an enjoyable and meaningful Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. The New Year at Chabad of Sudbury got off to a great start with multiple programs, services and classes.

Below are some of the highlights of the High Holidays. 

  • More than 40 guests joined us for our Rosh Hashanah Dinner
  • A great turnout joined us for Rosh Hashanah at Nobscot where we enjoyed services, a children's program and more in the beautiful setting of the Scout Reservation.
  • A special Rosh Hashanah Service took place at the Wingate at Sudbury on the 1st day for some 30 residents and family members.
