“Rabbi, I speak for my family and myself when I tell you that you gave my Mom the greatest gift & blessing. Chabad has been amazing to all of us. Mom & I knew that from the first moment we met you, but to witness the heart & soul & time you have given to her along with your children & your faith over these last months, has been beyond words to say the least. Meeting you at the Seder was a really tough time for Mom and you were the first ray of hope & sunshine that she and I had felt in a long time”.
It is letters and emails like this that we receive year-round thanking us for an inspiring experience, or for lending a supportive hand, for assisting with financial needs, or in thanks to the many amazing programs and courses that we offer.
This past year hundreds have benefited from the rich array of programming and experiences provided by the Chabad Center of Sudbury. Our unique holiday hands-on programs have been drawing record numbers, our adult education series of classes, courses and lectures have been informing and educating dozens, our new JLI for Teens has taken off well, and each month so many people connect with the unique programs and exciting opportunities offered at our center or by our staff.
Despite this year’s challenging economic situation we have gone the extra mile to continue our programs, increase our work, and provide assistance and support to so many. This year donations and support have been much harder to come by as many of our supporters took a hit in one way or another.
Yet even with the difficult times and challenging year which we are just completing we are almost there. I now turn to you and ask you to go the extra mile in our year end campaign and help bring us over the TOP so that we can end the year in the black and start off the new year on a strong financial footing. Help us raise $18,000 this December so that we can complete the year and meet our budget and go forward with financial confidence.
As you know, Chabad is a community based organization welcoming all and promoting Jewish awareness and pride via the knowledge of our rich heritage and traditions. We overlook no one and will go anywhere to help another. We have successfully stimulated Jewish activity in areas and markets which have been untouched and unreachable.
Chabad offers education, but more importantly, it offers the opportunity to experience first-hand the vitality and relevance of Judaism as it is lived today. Participants experience the joy and celebration, the intimacy and compassion, the wisdom and knowledge that is inherent in Jewish life and learning.
Chabad is a full service organization responding to both the material and spiritual needs of the community. Through classes, counseling and celebrations, we will use whatever means necessary to bring the message of Judaism to children, teens, adults and the elderly.
Chabad is supported entirely by local voluntary contributions and all funds are returned to the community through our various activities, programs initiatives and campaigns. We cannot do this alone. Your help this year is all the more vital and will ensure that we can continue to offer our religious and social services to everyone -- no strings attached.
On behalf of all the people who rely on your kindness, we thank you for your support and wish you and yours much continued success in all of your endeavors coupled with good health, Nachas and prosperity. Thank you for being our partner.
Best regards,
Rabbi Yisroel & Shayna Freeman

A Few Quotes From Our Inbox
A visit to someone:
“Hi Rabbi, I speak for my family and myself when I tell you that you gave my Mom the greatest gift & blessing. You are an amazing man, Rabbi, & friend to her, to all of us. Mom & I knew that from the first moment we met you, but to witness the heart & soul & time you have given to her along with your children & your faith over these last months, has been beyond words to say the least. Meeting you at the Seder was a really tough time for Mom and you were the first ray of hope & sunshine she had felt in a long long time, for me as well. You have been G-d’s blessing to us & we are eternally grateful.”
From a JLI participant:
“Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I get so much out of the JLI classes and, although we don't go that much, the other Chabad activities. Not only do I find myself often sharing the big ideas with my family and Jewish friends, but also I have recently realized that my family is changing in more subtle but pervasive ways. Another way to put this is that I think that one effect of Chabad in Sudbury on our family is that we have successfully taken many baby steps to becoming more Jewishly involved in perhaps technical ways while talking and thinking a lot about the big ideas. Thanks so much.”
From a Teen:
“Thank you for including me in this new series of classes. I really enjoyed it. I have to admit that I was a little surprised how interesting I found it. As far as feedback, I liked the topic last week because I could relate it to real-life situations. It taught me about harming others and other people's rights. It really made me think. As a matter of fact, when I got home I tried to explain the topic to my brothers and encouraged them to join me Sunday night. I think my brother is going too! I am looking forward to the next class.”
From a young mum:
“Shayna, I am just so glad we met and you have brought Judaism into my life and my daughter’s life in such a positive way...having a solid Jewish background was so important to my mother so I feel so happy knowing that you're helping me make this happen for my family.”
Visits to the elderly:
“Dear Rabbi, Thank you so much for your ongoing visits with my wife’s mother. The visits are the highlights of her week.”
